SNAPGUARD

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 13, 2026

SnapGuard encrypts all photos on your device. We collect zero data and have zero access to your content.

SnapGuard ("the App") is developed by John Dean Martin ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

SnapGuard is designed with privacy as its foundation. All photos are encrypted and stored entirely on your device using AES-256-GCM encryption. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your photos, vault contents, PINs, or personal data on external servers.

Camera and Photo Library Access

The App requests access to your device's camera to capture photos directly into your encrypted vault, and to your photo library to import existing photos. Photos imported into the vault are encrypted on-device. If you enable the "Delete from Camera Roll" option, original photos are removed from your library after encryption. These operations happen entirely on your device.

Motion Data

SnapGuard may request access to your device's motion sensors solely to enable the optional Panic Wipe feature, which detects a shake gesture. Motion data is processed locally in real-time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

Purchase Information

SnapGuard offers an optional monthly subscription for Premium access with a 3-day free trial. All transactions are processed securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID.

Analytics and Tracking

SnapGuard does not include any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. We do not track your usage patterns, collect device identifiers, or build user profiles.

Data Storage

All app data, including your encrypted photos, vault configuration, and preferences, is stored locally on your device. PINs are stored as cryptographic hashes in the iOS Keychain. No data is synced to external servers or cloud services.

Data Security

SnapGuard uses dual-layer encryption to protect your photos. The first layer uses a proprietary key-derivation system, and the second layer applies AES-256-GCM encryption. Encryption keys are derived deterministically from your vault credentials and stored securely in the iOS Keychain.

Children's Privacy

SnapGuard does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require account creation or collect any personal data from any user.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
